Free job-search help in Nevada, Plumas, and Sierra counties

Alliance for Workforce Development (AFWD) runs America's Job Centers of California (AJCC) across a six-county region: Butte, Lassen, Modoc, Nevada, Plumas, and Sierra. All services are free.

Who it's for

Any adult looking for work, changing careers, or recovering from a layoff. AFWD also runs a dedicated youth track for ages 17–24.

What you get

  • A resource center with computers, Wi-Fi, printers, fax, and phones you can use for your job search
  • Help writing a resume, preparing for interviews, and finding job leads
  • Free workshops (in person and virtual) on job search, networking, and workplace skills
  • Free access to online training platforms (Alison, Coursera, Khan Academy) and skills testing (AMCAT)
  • Referrals to paid training programs if you qualify
  • On-site and virtual interviews with local employers

Youth services (ages 17–24)
