Who it's for: organizations looking for broadband-related money: community-based organizations, nonprofits, libraries, schools, health care entities, local agencies, governments, tribal entities and for-profit companies.
What it is
The California Department of Technology's Funding opportunities page lists state and federal programs that support "broadband deployment, adoption, [and] digital literacy planning and implementation." Search or filter by:
- I work with: community-based organizations, education, for-profit companies, governments, health care, libraries, local agencies, nonprofits, tribal entities
- Looking for funding to support: adoption, affordability, devices, digital equity, digital navigators, digital skills training, infrastructure, internet access, planning and more
Each entry shows whether it's open or closed, the agency, award size, match requirement, funding cycle and deadline, eligible applicants and costs, and contacts. Programs listed include the CPUC's CASF accounts (Adoption, Infrastructure, Public Housing, Line Extension, Consortia), the California Teleconnect Fund, Tribal Technical Assistance, USDA ReConnect and Community Connect, E-Rate, Lifeline and others.
Tip: confirm dates on the program's own page. On 2026-09-28 the finder still showed the CASF Infrastructure deadline as Oct. 1, 2026, but the CPUC moved it to Nov. 2, 2026.
