FLAG: DUPLICATE OF363a4ee6-9520-81a9-ad11-d321f056304c— candidate for archive. ECIP is the crisis component of LIHEAP, not a separate program. The canonical page covers HEAP, ECIP, and WAP together: <page url="https://www.notion.so/363a4ee6952081a9ad11d321f056304c"/>
What ECIP is
ECIP (Emergency Crisis Intervention Program) is the fast-track piece of LIHEAP for households facing a utility emergency — a 48-hour shutoff notice, an already-disconnected meter, or running out of propane or wood. It pays a credit directly to your utility or fuel vendor and can exceed the regular HEAP annual cap. Source: [csd.ca.gov/Pages/Energy-Assistance (accessed 2026-05-17)]
How to apply (Nevada or Placer County)
Project GO, Inc. runs LIHEAP/ECIP locally.
- Call (888) 524-5705 and press 2 for Nevada County or 1 for Placer County.
- Tell the voicemail you have a shutoff notice or no fuel — ECIP cases are prioritized.
- A program assistant calls back, usually within 24–48 hours, and takes your application by phone.
- The mailbox caps at 40 calls per day; if full, try again after 9 a.m. the next morning.
