Who it's for: adults experiencing homelessness in Truckee and North Tahoe. The pilot "will prioritize serving people already living unsheltered in Truckee or North Tahoe."
Where: 12315 Deerfield Drive, Truckee (behind Taco Bell). Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year-round. Daily operations are managed by Volunteers of America.
Services
- 10 emergency shelter beds (by referral)
- 6 interim housing beds for short-term stabilization, stays of up to 90 days with reassessment every 30 days
- Drop-in day center, noon–3 p.m. weekdays: showers, meals, laundry and restrooms
- Case management and behavioral health navigation
- Mail services and personal storage
- Connections to longer-term and permanent housing
How to get in
Call 530-606-5457 for shelter referrals, availability and eligibility. Service providers and community members can call too. All referrals start at emergency-shelter level; an intake questionnaire decides eligibility for an interim bed. Returning guests must check in by 3 p.m. (or the bed is reassigned); curfew is 9 p.m.
Status: this is a one-year pilot that opened Feb. 25, 2026. Call to confirm it is still operating.
