Who it's for: anyone dealing with insurance — especially homeowners and renters in wildfire country who face non-renewals, the FAIR Plan, or a claim after a fire.
United Policyholders (UP) is "a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization" whose mission is to be "an effective voice for consumers of all types of insurance." It was co-founded in 1991 after a Northern California wildfire destroyed 3,000 homes. "No insurance companies underwrite or fund our programs."
